Covered carvings?
To protect the rock carvings of the World Heritage site, we cover the panels during certain parts of the year, making them in accessible. The covering mainly takes place during winter and allow the rock surfaces to be free from vegetation which reduces the damage caused by frost.

During winter, the rock carvings may be covered with snow and ice.
Opening hours of the sites
The rock carvings that are accessible for visitors are accessible 24/7, year-round. Please note that overnight parking is not allowed at any of the visitor destinations, and the applicable rules are signposted at the parking areas.
